God Bless America!

Today we learned about our wonderful symbol...the Bald Eagle! Before we actually begin drawing and creating, we always learn about our subject matter.

Going step by step is a great way to show students how to really look at lines and shapes.

One of our finished creations! This was created by a little 6 year old! Just amazing!

NATURE! Nature is a wonderful subject for artists!

Setting up for teaching about the White Rhino.

This is Yen's artwork....she is 5 and soooo creative!

Another rhino...age 6. I love the detail in the background

RAINBOWS!!!! Gotta Love 'Em!

My set up for my lesson on rainbows. I prepped the watercolor paper taped to a board. I have a handout made on drawing arc's or curved lines for the rainbow to be used as a warm-up. Then we talked about how a rainbow is formed and how artists use color. The student below is only FOUR! He is actually sitting in a booster chair! So cute!

TADA!

Abstract Fish!!

With this lesson, I focused one SHAPE and DESIGN. In my 60 minute class we were able to complete these with a tremendous amount to detail.

This student is an eight year old...I only wish I took a picture of his finished Abstract fish, it was AWESOME!

This six year old loved adding so many different lines and designs! We kept the coloring SIMPLE for a CONTRAST effect.

Our Finished Watercolor Cats!

Finishing our watercolor cats! Student above is one of my 6 year old art students.

TADA!!!!!!!!! Finished Masterpiece!

This student is finishing his cat by using the wet-on-wet technique for the window. By doing this, we decided that it gave it the "dreamy" look.

You can just imagine what this cat is looking at....could it be a mouse???
